  My husband and I visited Grubsteaker's for the first time since it was rebuilt following the devastating tornado. The restaurant was very clean and the wait staff attentive. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll return since the hash browns and American fries glistened with grease, the bacon was limp and not "blotted" to eliminate excessive grease. My buttered toast tasted as if the butter was a bit aged, or they slathered it with the same lard they used to fry the potatoes! The coffee was great and they always made sure your cup was full. Maybe it was an off morning. Sorry.

  Visited last night for the first time since tornado - won't go back. Ordered the Seafood Combo plate - 2 pcs walleye, shrimp, scallops - could not eat any of it due to the excessive amount of grease on the entire plate. Advised the waitress and she only offered to get me something else or a take home container. Really, take home? I couldn't eat it there so I sure did not want to take it home! Waitress did not take one dime off the bill. Noticed another review states "excessive grease" - glad it was not just me. I would say avoid this place unless you want clogged arteries!

  Awesome Home style cooking restaurant! Everything taste like it is made all from scratch in house no canned bullshit like these other places use. They just rebuilt but the food is as good as ever. Place is usually busy so there might be a wait time to be seated but it is well worth it! I tried the new "Tornado Burger" the other day which is really funny and comical to me since the place blew down from one. BUT THE FRIED COD on Friday nights..... TO DIE FOR also the tortilla soup is amazing.
